Heather’s Picks – Donuts to Die For
After attending this year’s Hosts Global Alliance Forum in Cancun, Mexico and declaring donuts as one of the “things that makes her happy”, our President Heather had received quite a few comments on top donuts around the US and where to find them. Here’s her top 5 picks we compiled for donut lovers everywhere.
1) Dynamo Donuts – San Francisco, CA
Heather’s top San Francisco spot, Dynamo Donuts simply can’t be beat! Dynamo features a wide variety of award winning donuts. In true San Francisco style, local organic milk and ingredients are used in each batch creating a taste that is to die for. Feel likereally letting loose? Give the bacon apple maple donut a try.
2) Voodoo Donuts – Portland, Oregon
Voodoo donuts offers some of the most unique donuts around, and even has its own Wedding Chapel for extreme donut connoisseurs. For an over the top experience, be sure to try the Memphis Mafia – complete with fried dough, banana chunks and cinnamon sugar covered in glaze, chocolate frosting, peanut butter and chocolate chips.
3) Cafe Du Monde – New Orleans, Louisiana
They’re French. They’re covered in powdered sugar. They come in sets of three. These are truly amazing if you’re in the area and don’t mind battling lines of tourists.
4) Top Pot – Seattle, Washington
These donuts are famous. President Obama made a trip to this shop once while visiting Seattle. The old fashioned donuts are consistently a local top choice, and after visiting and trying them its easy to see why. So tasty!
5) The Doughnut Plant in NYC, Creme Brulee
The Doughnut Plant is THE place for donuts when visiting New York City. With many unique creations, there’s always something for everyone — but for a taste you’re sure to remember, be sure to get your hands on at least one of the Creme Brulee Donuts.
