Wildflower Linens Showcase

Fashion Forward Textiles and a Passion for Design, Youngsong Martin's San Francisco Mixer

The sky is dark and the streets are quiet in the tucked away warehouse of The Dogpatch District. A line of cars are greeted by valet service, indicating the address of the mostly unmarked building. Filing up to the buzzer, a group of four women shared in the ah-ha moment as we buzz our way into the offices and up in the elevator. A warm smile at the registration desk welcome our now 10-lady-group into the showroom. Stepping into the showroom is exactly like Dorothy stepping into the technicolor of Oz. A blast of vivid fabrics stretched across canvas, and rows anIMG_0138d rows of color coordinated samples contrast the off-white hallway. Our group gasps with awe and wonder, before bouncing in opposite directions to get our hands on it all.

About the Designer

Youngsong Martin joins her guests in a sleek leather sheath dress, that’s equally classic and cutting edge. She posses an obvious eye for fashion, showcased through her personal style in dress and decor. Her genuine smile and ease at conversation makes our second meeting feel like rekindling a long standing friendship. Young goes from a warm welcome to an adoring recap of her newest styles and asking about which pieces appeal to our group. She continues to point to corresponding pieces and describes different elements of decor that could compliment the linen, the mark of an event professional. Her award-winning style and her education-centered approach to conversation make her a one-two punch in the event design world. Her influence is felt from Los Angeles to her native Seoul, where she has returned to star in documentaries about her successful business. Above all, Young has built a business that is flexible; her designs are made with the client in mind, and Wildflower works to get exactly what a planner needs for their event.

About the Designs

Wildflower Linens are high-end, touchable pieces that mirror the current and timeless trends of fashion. The fabrics are so lux
urious, Young organized a “IMG_0137Linens as Fashion” fashion show where she draped models in her collection. A single design can come in a wide variety of sizes, adding the perfect pop of coloration wherever an event designer can dream. Because the team has designed events for years, they conceptualize right along with your existing motif. Many of the linens are designed to even be reversible, allowing for  unique variation from a one note linen display. Our personal favorites were the burlap chair covers with sheer tree detail. The full collection leaves no stone uncovered in color or texture, as they promote a fun, chic event look and feel.

We can’t say enough about the fabulous evening, catered by Shilling & Co. Bacon wrapped bananas and ahi poke tray passed while event designers mingle and make their way toward the designer to shake hands and laugh. The event reads just as the work style of the Wildflower team, professional and inspiring. Even writing this, our swatch books arrived and I had to stop to swoon over the sample books. Their passion for their work is a refreshing and infectious invitation to spread creativity across cafe tables and hi-boys with a smile on our faces. They currently have showrooms in Los Angeles, Orange Country, San Francisco and Miami with plans to open in Dallas. Look for them near you!
