After years of partnering with Slack to create world-class global events, the goal was to create a best-ever employee celebration in the HQ backyard where everyone – employees, family, friends, and even Fido – had a great time.
CLIENT’S CHALLENGE
After working with Slack to “one-up” half a dozen events, this year’s challenge presented something new. This employee celebration needed to be even better than the previous year’s summer picnic. Everyone – employees, children, spouses, friends, and pets should feel included and engaged within a unique setting. But how do you inspire your people…in a parking lot?
The Key Solution
- Keep employee engagement THE top priority by placing Slack’s exciting, forward-thinking culture at the epicenter of the entire planning process.
- Harness clever ingenuity to turn a blank slate with no views (or bathrooms) into branded build-out – literally from the ground up – and allow for next-level customization to ensure the event is 100% unique.
- Develop intentional design for every desire by focusing on inclusive entertainment, activations, and design elements to ensure there is something for all ages, special needs, and interests.
Key Results
An epic, highly inclusive, brand-centric, pop-up carnival that promoted employee engagement with something for everyone.
From standard employee outing to a full-on carnival celebration, this event at San Francisco’s Fort Mason featured:
- Exhilarating carnival rides for attendees of all ages.
- Branded game booths with prizes for everyone.
- Fully, immersive Slack-branded social spaces and common areas where guests could socialize and connect or relax and retreat.
- Interactive giveback activities that aligned with Corporate Social Responsibility goals where guests could have fun while making an impact.
- Live performances on stage with live, pop-up entertainment roaming throughout the crowd.
By creating a fun and festive environment with high-energy moments and unexpected surprises, employees were engaged, energized, and inspired by an on-brand celebration of company culture. Employees and their families had the freedom to create their own memories and build deeper connections – all while having a blast.
